Day 5 – 10 Day Walk Out of the Valley of Darkness

Day 5

October 19, 2019

Homecoming 2019

On day 5, we continue, and we celebrate traditions.

Traditions: “the transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation, or the fact of being passed on in this way.”

We have a strong tradition to support our daughters, our teens, our family, our friends, and others in our community.  We have been to many games, performances, concerts, parties, openings, and many more.  It is just what we do.  It is something we still do today.  It’s our tradition.

“But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good” (1Thessalonians 5:21)

For the past 4 years, it has been our tradition to support Morgan at her homecoming.  As I sit at our 4th homecoming game at Pitt, I am reminded of our first…

Even though Michael did not feel his best, he was here with us! As a matter of fact, we did not want him to come because of his heath, and he said he was going if we don’t go.  He was determined to watch his baby in the Pitt State Marching Band.  We love to support our daughters and would travel wherever to do that.

When you lose a parent at a young age, a child can feel abandoned, and I don’t ever want my babies to feel that way.  (I know that feeling) They need to know that I am still here to support them, and no matter whatever happens, if no one else is here, Mama will be there, and GOD is always here!

This is a good tradition, and we will continue to hold on to it.
